About Bunso Eco Park

The Bunso Eco Park is a unique blend of adventure, serenity and nature, engulfed by the past, present and future. A botanical Garden, two hours away from Accra, offers visitors a combination of deciduous native forest and species introduced to Ghana by the Plant Genetic Resource Centre of Bunso.

The site contains over 110 species of birds,30 species of butterflies and an herb garden with over 40 species and home to Ghana’s second canopy walkway and offers an exciting range of adventurous activities such as the zipline, horse riding, adult swing, play grounds for kids, and an exotic swimming pool hidden within the lushness of nature and green.

The site also aids visitors to learn about native and exotic plants, including their medicinal properties, or go an indigenous foods tour.

Bunso Eco Park was officially opened in 1935 by two British nationals, Frank Thompson and David Gillet, but was later developed into a recreational park by Ghanaians working with the Ministry of Tourism Ghana. Nestled on 200 acres of vegetation and over 80 years of history preserved.
